I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since I started my blog. Looking back, I’m so glad I literally sat down one day and just decided to start. This blog has been my little corner of the world, and I’m so excited to share my new website with you.
I wanted to redesign my blog for many reasons, one of which was to keep myself inspired. I wanted a beautiful, custom layout that I can update depending on what I want. At this point, you’re probably wondering why I made the switch if nothing was wrong with my previous site.
Before this design overhaul, I was formerly hosting on Squarespace. Squarespace is a great place to get started if you’re unfamiliar with web design or feel intimidated by hosting services. You can do everything in one place whether that be publish blog posts, view analytics, or send e-mail blasts. However, with Squarespace comes design limitations that can be frustrating if you want a more customized experience. I highly recommend using them as a starting point if you’re just getting the hang of things!
Back when I started blogging, I basically had no funds to invest into my dream website. I was still in college, it was a month or two after the pandemic started, and all of the world seemed like it came to screeching halt. But what better time was there to start a passion project? Although I was and still am a perfectionist, I was happy to call that space my own.
So here we are, (almost) one year later and I decided to make the jump from Squarespace to self-hosted WordPress. My blogger friends weren’t kidding when they said this would be the (very difficult) but right decision. I’ve spent hours, days, and weeks customizing every corner of this blog to be simple, stylish, and sleek. I genuinely wanted a home for my content that is inspiring.
This new site inspires me to write, share things I love, and most importantly connect with the people who have supported me from the start. As promised, I’ve included new content with this launch, so you’ll have a bunch of scrolling to do.
My favorite new feature is the “Shop” section of this site where you can shop my liketoknow.it and Instagram, as well as now view my favorites by category. The layout is super user friendly and you can find all the products I mention there.
I’m currently playing catch up with a bunch of housekeeping things on the back end, but coming up with a posting schedule is definitely high on my priority list once I find out what feels right for my schedule. 🙂
I hope you love my little corner of the internet as much as I do.
