After searching high and low for this powder foundation, I was finally able to get my hands on it this week. It was the last one on the shelf, so I made it just in time! After seeing everyone on tiktok rave about the coverage, I knew I needed to pick it up and try it out for myself.
My initial thoughts: The shade range definitely needs some work. It comes in 16 shades, many of which aren’t carried at the drugstore. I picked mine up in the shade 120, Vanilla, which is literally a perfect match for my skin. I do like the packaging and can appreciate the fact that there is a compartment with a mirror and sponge at the bottom. Typically, I would throw the sponge out in the garbage because it serves me no purpose, but I actually like the size and texture of it so I held onto this one!
I tried this foundation two different ways to make sure I could get the most wear of it.
I first tried this foundation on bare skin, and I loved the way it applied. I used the sponge that came in the packaging and it made the foundation look super smooth, didn’t emphasize texture, and definitely covered up scarring/discoloration. It even managed to cover up a little breakout I had. I noticed that the powder foundation almost had a blurring quality, and really made my skin look airbrushed. 10/10 for the initial application! I will say that you should definitely moisturize before hand and make sure your skin is hydrated before applying it. I really like the way it wore throughout the day and how natural it looked. It’s perfect for those no-makeup makeup days where you want coverage but don’t want a full face.
I also tried this powder foundation over top of my regular foundation. I applied my liquid foundation and concealer as I usually would, and then went over top with a big fluffy brush and this product. It gave the same smooth and blurring effect but definitely looked super full-coverage and a little heavy. You can tell the product is sitting on your skin when you double up on foundation, but adding a dewy setting spray or Mac Fix+ takes away the powdery look. I like how full-coverage it is and would say it’s perfect for when you’re going full glam too.
All in all, I think I’ll definitely use this product for my natural makeup days. I love how lightweight it feels on the skin along with how much coverage it has. If you have normal to oily skin I think you will absolutely adore this too. For dry skin, definitely use a super-hydrating moisturizer beforehand.
My skin directly after applying it today:
I’m so glad to have tried this product right in time for spring and summer and can’t wait to test more viral makeup products. What are some of your favorites?
